My “Fabulous Fifties Dessert Mandala” is on exhibit in Utah in the group exhibition, “ABC, Assemblage, Book Art and Collage” at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at Southern Utah University, Cedar City Utah. This is the first time I’ve exhibited in the state of Utah, and I’m flattered that I was invited to participate! If you happen to be in the area, check it out, it looks like a wonderful exhibit and there are lots of activities planned around it. Wish I could attend!dessertmandala

My pieces were mentioned in a review for the Force of Nature Show in Art New England Magazine! “Part social critique and art historical comedy Donna Catanzaro’s three digital collages If Goddesses were CEOs, upend good-old-boy networks, recasting them with stately female icons.”

I’m pleased to be recognized for creating “art historical comedy.” This is a trend I’ve been seeing recently. I admire the smart works of Nina Katchadourian, and her Flemish self portraits made with toilet tissues in airplane rest rooms. There is a lot to be gleaned from the images of our old art history books. The best part is that most of them are in the public domain!
