Artist Statement
I create to amuse, entertain, and inspire myself and the viewer. Lately I’ve been experimenting in different mediums. For years I worked in Photoshop and created digital collages. They were political, ironic and funny, using vintage images from old magazines. But I got tired of sitting in front of a computer and staring at a monitor. I love power tools and building projects, so I started assembling mixed media pieces. I’m up-cycling items I was going to throw away. I’m making books and pop-up books. And during the pandemic I rediscovered drawing. My art practice is evolving, growing, and spreading. Why not try something new? Why not look at the creative process in a new way?
I have an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College. I worked as Graphic Designer and taught Graphic Design for 14 years at the college level. I live in New Hampshire with my wife at the end of a dirt road, surrounded by trees.
